SpeedFreak Detailed: '08 E60 M5, 4yr old MESS
This car had it all. Acid rain etchings, swirl marks, RIDS, overspray, sanding marks, pigtails you name it. For a car that is barely 4 years old, it was pretty bad. The car was just bought by David, owner of Pro Shield out of Sterling, Va who is a personal friend of mine. The correction was done at Designo Motoring's shop, also in Sterling. I set aside the entire weekend for this job, and it took up every minute of it.
The hood had been resprayed and what a pathetic job.:rolleyes It was sprayed while on the car, tape lines were clearly visible, they shot the clear OVER top of the windshield wiper fluid jets, and the rear portion was void all together of clear. Also note the M5 badge in the incorrect spot on the rear, will be fixed soon. Also, the rocker panels, and sides of the rear bumper cover were rough to the touch, and full of overspray. Unfortunately my camera was acting up, so I didn't get many before shots. Because of the multitude of non factory paint, a good deal of experimenting with different pad/polish combos was necessary.
