Detailing Novice, what products should I use?

Hello all. I'm looking through this forum and man you guys are SERIOUS about detailing but I'm pretty much a novice so I need advice.

I'm just looking for a good quality wash solution, wheel cleaner, leather cleaner, leather conditioner, and product to use on all the non-leather bits on the interior.

I don't need any solid gold space-age products, just some stuff that's better than armor-all/meguiars stuff you get at Autozone (or is that stuff decent?). She's not a show car, I just want to keep her paint looking clean and keep the interior in good, durable condition.

Any suggestions?

+1. I'd also love to learn about some good waxes. Houston heat, road grime, and BUGS!!

I've got the Sapphire black, so I assume handwaxing is best? I can't imagine taking the chance of creating swirl marks on that deep wet black paint.

You should check out www.autogeek.net for products/ how to's and autopia.org which is a detailers forum for professionals. (lots of good information, careful when posting)

I would also do a search on this site, lots of guys have done amazing things have told you how to do it. good luck.

I was a novice 2 years ago as well. I then contacted www.griotsgarage.com

They send you a nice instructional DVD and Booklet.

I do my own polishing, waxing, claying, sealing.

Initially, I was afraid to wash it!!!!
