It happens to all of us when we leave our cars outside or even in the garage for some time and when we come to drive it we see a thin (or thick) layer of dust all over car.
What tools do you guys use to dust it?
Here in Kazakhstan there is this thing quite popular without any alternatives (attached). But, in some cases it scratches the car leaving circular swirls.
The brush shown on picture is oiled frequently with aerosol is used to clear car's exterior from dust.
Sorry i should have been more clearer the item s called (Ultra Plush Super Terry) it is designed to remove polish, wax, glaze and lint free absorbency or you can get the Microfiber towel for scratch free results. They probably do dusters you can use before these 2 detailing items. Products are Top stuff.
Actually try Meguiars.co.uk got to shop and then scroll to accessories and you should find what you are looking for, loads of kit their to make you happy i can assure you . Hope that helps
Thank you for advice.
Why would not you clean the car off dust with a duster?
Can you give some links to online-shops that sell the things you recommended?
Thanks
I just feel there is more chance of the duster to mare the paint.
Well Phil@ Detailer Domain has things that would cover what you need. He does not offer gloss-it products. He will probably chime in very soon, very good guy.
Yes phil is another good option besides they seem to be moving location and are discounting a lot of their products 20% off all items this to save on the cost of moving all items so i suggest you move quickly. Try OffYourMarks.com as well , i think i understand what you are trying to do so you need to get good stuff to avoid paint damage. Good luck and hope you find the best option. Y
Surface Dust
To remove light, dry surface dust , pollen without causing scratches by applying very little surface pressure, dusting with long strokes in one direction only, use a product that contains a surfactant; this will lessen surface scratching as they ‘lift’ dust etc into the media used avoiding surface friction (use a solution of Optimum no-rinse (ONR) diluted 1:20 / distilled water in a fine mist spray bottle) Use a long nap micro fibre towel to ensure the dust lifted from the paint surface will remain in the nap and not on the towel surface thereby causing surface marring. Shake the towel occasionally to ensure any particles picked up will drop out rather than come to the surface while you’re using it.
It important to use this methodology only for the removal of dry surface dust, if the vehicle has oily road film, road tar, damp pollen or dust, etc the vehicle surface should be subjected to a conventional car washing process
