When I first got the car, there was a bit of smell of humidity inside. I'd like to think that this is because the car sat at the dealership for a while out by the road. After I brought the car home, I cleaned the hell out of the inside and that annoying smell went away.
But the car still has a bit of an aroma to it. It's not "humidity" per se but i'd call it "8-year-old car smell." I dont mind it and I've come to identify it as "M5 smell" and my nostrils get used to it within seconds, but I'm curious as to whether I can get rid of it or not.
Come to think of it, a bit of it comes out when I turn the cabin fans on.
Use Anti-Bacterial Fa-breeze in HVAC intakes while runnig A/C. Works just great.
Where are the HVAC intakes located? Are they under the dash on the passenger side? Should the AC be on recirculated air? I need to do this
myself.
Thanks!

the two big black boxes at the rear corners of the engine compartment. Pop off the lids (maybe get a new set of activated charcoal filters, they're supposed to be replaced regularly), take out the filters and open the front doors. Turn on the fan, full speed, no recirc, spray lysol or whatever into the boxes, you'll see it getting sucked in. Spray the entire can. Close up the car and let it sit a while (overnight if you can). Car will smell like lysol for a few days, but that will kill the mildue/bacteria in the system and you should be good for a few years.

Another thing that makes my car smell great are Meguiars Gold Class Leather Wipes- you can use them on all your interior leather and vinyl and electronics too and car will smell great afterwards for a few weeks. Also I take one of those Yankee Candle car gels and put in one of the rear door storage compartments and that thing lasts about 2 months strong, just gotta make sure the holes are facing up so nothing leaks out.

A whole can???? That's a hell of a lot of lysol
Also, anyone got a part number for the cabin filters?
I use some fresh lavender is a small pouch and put it up front. Its all natural and smells good. There is also some citrus based all purpose cleaners that do a decent job of cleaning and leave a nice, non-chemically smell behind.
