Any recommendations as far as micro scratch removers?
That kind depends on the condition of your paint. Getting too agressive with scratch removal can sometimes cause more harm than good. I don't have a favorite as I tend to use what's called for depending on the paint conditon. I've used 3M products, Liquid Glass Pre Cleaner ( I like that one), and many others. Everybody has a their favorite. This why I made the suggestion earlier about the Megs and Mothers systems as they allow you to work on your technique without having to worry about which this or which that to use or making a costly mistake (gotta crawl before yada yada yada). The labels show which bottles are requied for each step. As you get better and learn more about different methods and products that are available, and there are tons, you'll be assured to get the results worth the investment in the top tier products without screwing up your paint or paying someone to fix a mistake. I'm not a pro or detail for a living. I only know what works for me. I just did mine this week end and am really pleased with my effort. (Yes I'll post pics) Just know there's going to be a flurry of information coming very shortly and it can get confusing, just pull what you need and file the rest for future reference. JMHO.
M55555- that is a very good link. Direct, to the point- you really get the sense that there are many paths to a great finish, not one "perfect" product.
I totally agree. You can achieve good results with a variety of techniques and products. There isn't one 'magic' or 'all-purpose' one. I mean if you use a product and after you put your hours into detailing it, you're just like "Wow, my car is fresh," well then, you achieved what you intended to do (regardless of product)

For micro-fine scratches, I usually use Maguier's Scratch Removal. If you notice that the scratches are a little more than 'micro,' then I usually use a dab of TurtleWax Rubbing Compound afterwards. On the M5, I've never had to go further than Maguier's.
Don't forget your tailpipes will shine up lovely with some 'elbow grease'.
Also, use baby wipes on yr dash, int the vent etc, & esp to clean the leather steering wheel. Keep a pack in the car - gives you something to do in the traffic ;-)

I'd just like to observe that if you start by having sex with the ugly girls you have a much better chance of getting a 2nd round with the pretty ones.
Gotta practice somewhere - not everyone goes straight to the big leagues
Not saying this applies to detailing, just saying that ugly girls need lovin' too...
