Bird shat on my Black Hood!... help

Just came outside to go get lunch and i see a huge bird shiit on my hood.. I parked it in the shade, and very carefully washed it off with a sponge..

BUT

there is now a definitive bird **** mark in the clear coat.. I guess the hot sun baked it within the few hours it was on it..

Is there anything I can do to save my car!? any polish or items from pepboys that I could try to get the damage out..

Ill never buy a black car again.. this is so ridiculous..

Just out of curiosity, was it a huge bird or just a huge pile of shjt?

If the spot is fresh like that, one could try using 2000 wet sanding paper and then polishing the flat spot that causes away with some cutting paste follewed by polishing up and wax.

Dangerous though if you don't know what youre doing

There are a few high quality products a Pepboys, but there are also some very dangerous products that can easily cause more damage. Rather than experimenting, you might want to find a high end auto detail shop.

A few products you might find locally:
3M Imperial Hand Glaze (I've bought this at Pepboys, but not recently)
P21S Gloss enhancing Paintwork Cleanser

Do not delay -- although it might seem you have removed all the bird dropping, there might still be a chemical reaction taking place. This is similar to water spots, which initially are only on the surface and slowly eat into the paint.

You are not alone, check out my bird poop experience:

Agreed, I had the same reaction happen after only 10 minutes of being on my hood. Either BMW paint is getting soft, or the bird shite here is getting toxic!

I would simply first try a damp lint free cloth, and see if it will smooth out the clear coat so the area will disappear.

You are playing Russian Roulette, DO NOTHING but take it to a VERY HIGH END body shop, or be prepared to re-paint hood...if you screw it up......
.
.............OR...........................
.
Like some I know, don't give a dam what their car looks like and through a coat of wax at it and forget about it !!! But I can't believe that is the case here and especially with BLACK....
.
. Do as Clyde said...high end shop.
. Good Luck....black is beautiful or pretty fugly.....take your pick.

I run a Collision Shop in San Diego,do what unfoundhorsepower says.Let a shop try to color sand and buff,if that dont work you pretty much have to repaint.Any time you have bird **** on your car you need to take care of it ASAP.

Years ago I had a detailer tell me that seltzer water or vinegar would "pull" the acid from the droppings out of the clear coat if the dropping was still fairly new. It may work on old spots as well?

That's really funny.

If you didn't see any birds around, you may have a much bigger problem.

Depending on your location, pellet gun, bird-shot .22, .410, 10 gauge, Hawk Missile.
