I've had the M5 for a little over a year now and decided it was time to show her some real love and do a proper exterior detail. I washed her and then used a clay bar on the paint. I then washed her again. I then removed the black mouldings from the bumpers and taped off the ones on the doors. Next up was the Porter Cable 7424 with Menzerma Intensive Polish. I went over the entire car and in a number of areas made several passes with the Intensive Polish until I was satisfied I had actually removed all the swirls, scratches and spots. I then switched to a softer pad and Menzerma Final Polish. I polished the entire car with this and it really started to look amazing. The depth of the paint was better than ever. I finished this up and then proceeded to apply 3 coats of Zaino Z2 Pro over a period of two days. I'm very happy with the results. I've attached a few pics of her for your enjoyment. All in all, I think I spent about 14 hours on this detail, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
This is my first experience with the Menzerma polishes and they are amazing. I also did my wife's Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the black paint came out like a mirror with the Menzerma polishes. Adding 2 coats of Zaino only made the shine deeper. I'm sold on Menzerma as far as polishes are concerned, but still a Zaino diehard for the final layer of protection and depth.
Nice work. I find that it's always a great stress reliever to detail both mine and my wife's black cars on the weekends. Your labor shows well in your pictures and it's obvious that you enjoy cleaning your pride and joy. You are definately using top shelf with the Menzerna and Zaino. Stay cool in the upcoming Texas heat.
