WTT: My 99M3 (plus cash) for 00 or 01 M5

I have an extremely nice (nicest I have seen) 99 M3 coupe that I am thinking about trading for an extremely nice 2000 or 2001 M5.

Some particulars about my M3:
• Titanium Silver on Black
• 39,900 miles
• I am the 2nd owner (I know the original owner)
• I have owned for two years
• Never driven winters
• Hand washed only
• Paint is close to perfect - I can count the number of body nicks – there are less than 10 on the entire car – all pin sized and low on the body
• Interior is perfect – I have treated the car with Leatherique so everything is supple and “new looking”
• No spoiler
• All original except:
K&N Filter
BBS 17 x 8 Wheels (I sold the original Contours) with Michelin Pilots

I love the car immensely – the reason I am considering an M5 is because of the four doors. I have 2 children that are getting older and I simply would like 4 doors, and I of course love M5’s.

What I am looking for in an M5:
• Red, Blue, Black or White
• Less than 40,000 miles
• Excellent Condition throughout – as nice as my M3
• Colored interior is a plus
• After market (nice) wheels is a plus

If anyone is interested let me know - you can email me at steven_arends@yahoo.com.

Thanks, Steve

Beautiful E36 and M5! Question for you:

I love both of your cars! Now that you have the M5, could you explain some of the differences? I have driven a couple of M5's (briefly), but I am curious what the you think the pros and conds have been? I would imagine you might miss a couple things about the little E36?

Thx, Steve

Re: WTT: My 99M3 for 00 or 01 M5

There are many differences, and a few very important likes..

It is really hard to point out ones likes and dislikes. One must drive the car for at least 5 months to really get a handle on the cars feel. Moving from a 1995 M3, 2000 540ia6, 2001 X5, 2001 540ia, 2001 M5, 1999 M3, 2002 M5--- I have found that I only like "M" BMW's and that it has to be an 5 series. So, that leaves me only 1 choice.

I like the amenities, the feel, the space, and handling of the M5. I Have driven othe makes and models but have always came back to BMW. I will drive the M5 forever.
When it needs a new engine I'll replace it. when it needs new suspension, I'll replace it. hope that helps

Only you can determine which will "Fit" you. The E39 M5 fits Me

Hmmmm, I take it you like M5's!!!!!!!!!

I am happy to hear it - it helps confirm some of my reasons. May I ask why you went from the 00 M5 to the 02?

Thanks, Steve
