Titanium/Black '01 M5 90k miles/GC/Apex/No accidents- $18k

Well, I hate to do this but I'm listing my newly purchased '01 M5 for sale.

I recently bought the car from another enthusiast in the Atlanta area, I was planning on keeping this car for the forseeable future, but my financial plans have changed and I need to let it go to pay for tuition. I'm just going to be perfectly honest here- I paid $16,500 for the car only a month or so ago. I've added the Ground Controls and Apex's, and that's it. I don't need to sell the car, or want to, its just the smart thing to do. I'm listing it for $18k firm

'01 M5 90k miles
Titanium Silver/Black full leather
Clean title/No accidents/Original paint

All stock except for the following:

-Ground Control Coilovers- replaced rear shocks 3k miles ago (GC re-valved Koni) and upper strut bearings
-Apex EC-7 18x10.5 ET27 all around. Michelin PSS 275/35/18 (only a few thousand miles left on these)
-Muffler delete

The car is in fantastic condition cosmetically. The paint is in great shape, PO did some paint correction and kept the car very clean. Usually when I buy a car the first thing I do is a thorough paint correction and deep clean and this car just didn't need it. I threw a coat of my favorite sealant on and have just been enjoying it. There are a few rock chips on the hood/bumper, really not noticeable because of the color. There are only a couple scratches on the car, really light stuff. It looks like a cat tried to jump on the hood (but slid off because the paint was too slick ) and left 3-4 1" long scratches and there is another light scratch right behind the drivers rear door. The worst cosmetic issue on the car is on the RR corner of the bumper, it looks like someone spot repaired it once upon a time, the paint doesn't match perfectly in one spot. I'll take a photo of this and update the thread. Lastly, the PO hit a parking block with the underside of the front bumper, it punched a small hole in the bumper but he kept the piece and I epoxied it back it, it's on the bottom of the bumper and is not visible, but just thought I would disclose. The broken piece was roughly 3" x 1.5"

The interior is great, leather is very soft and still in great shape. Pretty much what you'd expect from a 90k mile car. The leather on the passenger side bolsters shows slight fading/discoloration, but I think a leather treatment would go a long way, I think whatever Clemster has been using to restore seats would make these seats look perfect again. Carpet is perfect, including trunk, and the car comes with a set of new floormats as well as the original set. Steering wheel is also fantastic, leather still has perfect texture. Drivers rear window regulator is acting up, I think I'll fix that before sale.

Mechanically the car has no issues. The thrust arms should probably be replaced at some point, occasionally you can detect a 55mph shimmy but it seems to be mostly when you first start to drive the car, so could be tire related. The car developed a slight exhaust leak at the downpipes recently, so I've ordered the gaskets and should have those replaced this week. No lights, no leaks, no noises. I am planning on sending the oil to Blackstone on the next (and first on this car) oil change to make sure there are no rod bearing issues. The car has been running Liqui-Moly 10-60. All in all, I would drive the car anywhere, which is part of the reason I'm considering a sale- I take a lot of road trips and I will definitely be driving the mileage up on this thing if I do keep it.

Bumping this thread.. I'm not really considering selling, but I would consider a trade for an e34 m5 with cash on top. Not looking for a perfect e34, just a nice driver, something in the $11k-13k range with cash on top. I still have a small loan out on this car, hence the cash on top, and I'm trying to streamline my monthly costs while I finish school. If you have an e34 m5 and are looking to get into a really nice e39 m5 this is a great way to do it with minimal cash out of pocket.

My car has 96k miles now. New Syncro design spherical thrust arm bushings (new arms also), Meyle LCA, guibo, and trans mounts 1k miles ago. Also has a new set of PSS's with only a couple thousand miles on them.

It has a binder with a good number of records and receipts, but not comprehensive.
