I don't see the price on the link or the EAG website ("Call for price"). Did you call? EAG has always had aggressive prices, but consider that at $150,000 it would be double the cost of the same car EAG is selling with 6K miles.

Yes I called. I was curious what they would have it priced at. Eric told me that this is the cleanest M5 they have ever had and it's priced at $150,000. You are welcome to call and see what they tell you. I was expecting $80 - $90k based on the most recent $75k M5 you are mentioning, but never did I imagine $150k. But to someone it might be worth it.

Safe to assume they don't have a penny over $60k into that car. Nice margin. But for that collector that wants the best one available, money is not an object. Hope they sell it for all of that price. It helps all of our values.

I'm guessing not. The ad on their website gives the buyer an option of having it delivered with the original tires or new PSS's, and I would have to imagine it would be sold as all original. The premium on this car is due to it's low mileage and originality, which you lose when you start replacing parts - even if they are parts that degrade due to age not mileage (from a collectors perspective).

Besides, it's not like whoever buys this thing is actually going to drive it - it probably won't even be registered since there would be far too much risk involved in actually putting in on the road. No auto insurance company is going to get anywhere near that 150k in insured value should anything happen to it; there are zero comps.

On one hand I am glad this example will set the market for what a 'perfect' example e39 m5 is worth, but also saddened to see such a beast relegated to a life of hibernation.

EAG always asked for top $$$. I don't think you could drive a car that has been sitting all those years. It would have to be an investment. No room for it to go up in value at that price

I think the price is justifiable.

Given the recent announcement of no manuals on m5/m6's going forward along with the general view I've personally seen (biassed or not) that e39 is agreed to be the "best" m5, I think this is a good value if you are looking to store the car for more than 10 years.

I'd prefer a >5k <20k mile example with a lot less premium to invest and a lot less cost/per if I drive it but hey, its someone else's dilemma to figure out.
