Hello board -- I'm reluctantly selling a great vehicle. I know I'll have a hard time handing the keys over, but it's time.
I bought it on this board from an outstanding previous owner in Feb 2012 at 66k miles...who bought it used in May 2010 at 39k miles after the original owner traded it in at a top Dallas dealership (Sewell). The car has a history of meticulous owners and I hope it goes to a like minded individual. I have been as proactive and complete as possible in the mechanical and aesthetic upkeep on this vehicle. I'd love for this car to go to a board member.
Board member price is $18,000. I'll list on autotrader and ebay in the near future at $20,000.

Known issue list
Radio
+ Works well, loud and clear. However, every now and then, radio signal will cutout and go silent for about one second. Then comes right back. Happens infrequently, but I don't listen to the radio enough to care. CDs play just fine, so I know the amp is not a problem. I haven't addressed as it hasn't bothered me.
Trunk inside panel cover
+ The driver side has a panel that covers the 6 disc CD changer and nav module. It doesn't stay closed well as the plastic "tooth" on the panel doesn't attach well to the latch on the body.
Headlight goop
+ To me, this is a non-issue, but want to disclose. BMW of Dallas cleaned/resurfaced the headlights as soon as I purchased the vehicle. Not only did they do a crappy job (which I re-did myself at a much higher level of quality), but the tech also managed to touch the rubber, goopy stuff around the top of the headlights under the hood. Never been back since, nor will I. If you have an E39 M5, you know what I'm talking about. That tar-like gasket sealant stuff that should not be touched. Well, they touched it. No mechanical or functional implications whatsoever. I just had to clean it up, and the line of goop is not perfectly uniform.
General performance and condition comments
+ Engine is loose and feel is tight -- drives exceptionally well
+ First time passengers are shocked to learn it's 13 years old and are incredulous about the mileage based on how it drives and looks
+ I get ridiculed by family, friends, and co-workers about my level of anal retention about this car
+ Back seats have had two passengers under 5 times and one passenger under 10 times in my four years of ownership
+ Never been smoked in
+ Rest of interior is about as good as it gets -- dash, carpet, plastic, wood, leather are in great shape
+ Exterior condition is something I'm pretty proud of. Washed and detailed every two weeks by Steve at Showroom FX detail operation. Sorry for the iPhone pics...hopefully they do some justice. Btw, Steve is happy to speak to condition of the vehicle as well. The front bumper is original with original paint, and given it's age, you will see some road rash and a small/non-visible crack from a valet. But otherwise, and maybe even including, it's nice.
Thanks for reading. The car is awesome. I drive it maybe once during the work week and on weekends, and it's a lot of fun. You will not be disappointed as the E39 M5 might be one of the best cars ever made, and this one is a great specimen.
Feel free to PM, post here, email (FalcoM5board@gmail.com), or call/text (2one4 6six3 9two67) if you need anything. Thanks!
