FA (for auction): 2000 M5 - Silverstone (salvage title)

People on the E39 forums may know that my car got into an accident back in March and after much dealings with the insurance companies involved I finally got my check from the at fault insurers once my car was assessed as a total. In addition to that, IAA North Hollywood branch bought the car as a salvage title from me for an additional amount so this car is fully off my hands. But I checked with IAA today and it is officially for sale/bid. So I'm giving you guys first advance notice. AFAIK its mostly severe frame damage in the front and damage to the cooling system, but after the accident I shut the car off almost immediate to prevent engine overheating. None of th airbags have gone off inside and the whole engine/drivetrain as well as interior and rear should be in pristine shape

Here is the IAA listing: https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Vehicl...0&RowNumber=55

Photos of the original accident

I am surprised by the lack of responses that no one is interested in this pretty amazing deal for a salvage.

Is your thought to purchase for parting out? I am looking an e39, but I don't see the value in purchasing this one and fixing it unless it sells for a really good price.

But I am not at all experienced fixing cars.

What's your thoughts? Any idea of what they are looking to get?

Auction link is now dead. I would have been interested in bidding if I weren't on the other end of the country. Do you know what it sold for?

No idea, I was not part of that transaction. I just thought I'd give forum members advance notice that was up for bid (posted it on the same day auction was available.
