Perhaps I should try a different approach, any board member want me to make them an offer they can't refuse?
Or maybe I should enquire about the perpetually for sale 25k hexagon cars to see if a deal can be done.

Cheers,

What was the lever like when you viewed it? Interested to hear

The car was in good condition, all original panels and paint with only some light stonechipping on the front end to tally with mileage. Interior also good with little wear, owner was a smoker though which might put some off. Mechanically, it had apparently had a recent new clutch clutch and flywheel and various suspension bushes renewed as best practice measure rather than because something was wrong. It drove well. There was a slight clutch judder when pulling away in 1st, didn't seem serious, but I haven't noticed on others I've driven. Anyone know if this is common?

On reflection for me it wasn't as perfect as I want, but I do have very high standards and someone else will get a bargain. Somewhere around 9k seems right and if it stays unsold, maybe a cheeky offer.

Cheers,

Martin

I'm near Wellingborough (not a town known for it's natural beauty but thankfully there are some cracking local roads that go some way towards making up for that!).

I'm prepared to spend up to £10,000. I don't want to spend more as I'm keeping money aside as a 'war chest' in case my purchase suddenly (rather than gradually) turns into a money pit!
