Luxauto, I assume you had an uneventful drive to the coast? I had a lot of radar (10 or 12 times), but the V1 kept me safe. These certainly are amazing highway cars. I averaged 107 kph over the 1040 km which wasn't too bad given the 450 km of 2 lane highway (and about 500 km of 90 kph speed limit). Fuel receipt calculated mileage of 22.6 MPG.

The return trip in the E28 was also a pleasure. A little slower at an average 105 kph, but it was all daytime driving. It is a virtual fuel sipper at 27.9 mpg compared to the M5.

BTW, is your M5 still for sale. I mentioned it to a buddy in Toronto. If anyone is looking, Luxauto has a beautiful 3.8 litre example.

ps your photos look better than mine.

The drive was awesome. My mom rode shotgun and said she felt like she was flying the whole time. I forgot to reset the average speed, but it was about 120. ~120 to the park, ~105 in the 90, then 140 down the coquihalla, and light traffic in the valley. I forgot the exact numbers, but average economy was ~10.5-11L/100km.
Yup, still for sale, couple of guys have driven it, one in the process of arranging inspection, the other I expect to make an offer. Still might end up keeping it though!

Wow, that is great fuel economy!

I clipped one of your two photos and sent it to another buddy in Victoria yesterday. He was looking at Cdn spec E34 M5s earlier in the year. He is interested in the 3.8. I recalled that you had a new clutch, tires and brakes recently. Anything else that should be mentioned?

Cheers!

Anytime...as long as the weather cooperates!

Anyone have any ideas on a location(s) for a little meet and greet?

Maybe a drive? Anyone know some nice, twisty, unpatrolled roads?

Maybe a pint to wrap it up after?

I'm in for a meet even though I don't drive an M5. Maybe it would be better after all the Stampede craziness is over though.

My M5 is still on the coast but I'll bring my motorbike out to check out some M5s and try and keep up!

Riiiight - try to keep up . Maybe try to keep upright if we go for pops afterwards.

My Touring is also on the coast, but I could bring the euroized E28.

I can generally make it weekday evenings (Mon-Thurs) with a weeks notice.
