breaking in a new bimmer

Does anyone have any suggestions on the proper way to break in a new bimmer?

The dealership informs me that i should not rev the engine past 4000 rpm for the first 2000km or 1500 miles (approx.). As well they inform me that i should not use the cruise control or paddles shifters until then.

Are there other suggestions that you have that could help me preserve my M-engine and DCT transmission?

car manual says keep it below 5500 rpm for the first 1500 miles or 2000km but the dealership tells me to keep it below 4000rpm.
Also to limit my speed to 170km/h or 105mph and not to use my cruise control.
what else can i do to ensure that it is going to be a great long term motor?

I followed mine by the book. Vary rpm's...stayed under the top speed...no redlining of course or WOT (wide open throttle). Dealers seem to have differant opinions on break in, just go by what BMW recommends, safest bet. Others say drive it like you stole it from day 1...Good luck and congrats...POST UP SOME PICS!!!! DCT is supposed to be phenomanal...how do you like it so far?
