For 2011, X5 gets LCI (mid production changes) with new front bumper, rear taillights and a few other items. X5 gets new single turbo twin scroll inline 6 (N55) and the twin turbo V8 from X6, 7 series and the upcoming 550. The both get new 8 speed automatic transmission.
As for X5M, only new taillights and one or two new options (I think one option is lane change warning). Everything else should be the same.
Thanks for yhe posts so far but no let's get down to business.
I currently have a 2007 porsche gts and 90% leaning towards a BMW either the 2010 m x5 bc of the better pricing, or a new 5.0/m x5.
I want to know why I should buy one over the other.... Specifics.....
Down to the 3rd row seating option vs no option on the M.
How many gears are the 5.0 vs M, same year vs 2010/2011.
Help me make this decision.... I want performance but also comfort.....
I would take the new 50 TT with the 8-speed. As discussed in other threads, the motor is identical to the M, just different ECU calibration. A simple tune would get you to M power levels if you want it, and, in the end it is a truck, which IMHO should have some utility, and the non-M suspension / wheel/tire package is definitely more usable.
Regarding the 3rd row, I would opt for it, as it allows the second row of seats to fold flat. Without the third row, the second row has about a 25 degree incline near the front. However, the rear seats are even more uncomfortable (bench-like) and the third row is basically unusable. If you want a nice, comfortable back seat and can sacrifice the cargo space, check out the X6 - rear seats are like reclined thrones.
Nappa leather is also night and day versus Nevada. Sport suspension ironically doesn't drive much differently on the trucks I drove, but perhaps the difference is more pronounced after 10K miles, so I would also get it along with the adaptive drive.
I was very impressed by the roadholdign of the X5M, I beleive the non M is very different form the X5M, right?
