Engine malfunction indicator at the worst time...

Ok, so I'm driving my 06 M5 to work an the ideal situation presents itself. I'm entering the Nj Turnpike, an an E90 M3 and a 335 wants to race. I accept the challenge an downshift to 4th gear. As I begin to easily pull away on both cars, I get an Engine malfunction notification, which reduces my power. I drive to JMK BMW in Springfield, where the run diagnostics on the car only an get fuel pressure codes an fuel pump. They hook fuel pressure guages to it an reset everything possible in the car, an drive it at full throttle, an find no issues. The car runs even better now honestly, but they say if it happens again Ill need a new fuel pump $1800. So far so good, but I wonder if it had anything to do with the Seafoam I put in the gas tank a week ago? In any case would have loved to see how that race would have ended, ugh...
