Upgrading from CD GPD to DVD GPS for a 2000 M5

Posted 6th July 2009 at 21:54 by brownman76
My 2000 M5 has a CD based GPS that is semi-functional but pretty slow.

Can I upgrade to a DVD based GPS and still have all the BMW info show on my screen (on board computer, etc)?

If so, what do I need to buy, what will it cost and where can I find it?

Also, any recommendations as to who might do it (dealers vs. speciatly sound store)? Don't suggest I do it- if it takes more than duck tape and a hammer I am hopeless.

Thanks for any advice...

Removing the rear seat from a 2000 M5

Posted 15th June 2009 at 00:15 by dmeester
Anyone no how to do this? One user recommended to "give it a tug and it will come out", but mine seems to be pretty well attached and I'm afraid if I continue to tug I'll bend or break it.

Posted 24th February 2009 at 07:18 by Rafael Gonzalez
After four mechanics, they still don't know why my X5 will start perfect for one week or one month, then all of the sudden it will crank but it won't start. After a while it will start like nothing happend.sometimes it takes 30min.then it work prfect for a week or so.They chaged fuel pump, cop. and other things. It looks like they are working with traial and error.I'm tired of spending money for nothing.Does anyone has an idea what it can be.
