Another oil change with Lubro Moly Race Tech GT1 10w60, 93400 miles. Pressed in X5 thrust arm bushings, with keyway away from control arm, always fun fighting with stubborn suspension parts and bolts.

Blog - Thermostat, including metal seal - 6/1/2012

Had occasional B2/B3 codes with black soot inside exhaust tips along with 75C cruise temp. I suspected rich running and had NEM replace thermostat, twice, but no change. Car threw 69 code, I decided to tackle it myself, took off plenum, vanos lines, replaced tstat and metal seal inside tstat housing using 2 jaw puller and seal driver, leak free on first set of o-rings! Temp now rock steady 4~5C higher than before, black soot disappeared from exhaust tips. Will verify further when it gets colder....

Blog - Oil change TWS Castrol 10W60 - 4/8/2012

Oil change with Castrol 10W60, 89100 miles. Dropped lower oil pan to inspect ahead of track day, all clear. Fitted Pagid yellow RS19 front pads, bedding calls for stops from 110mph, bled all 4 brake lines using Motive powerbleeder. Adjusted Dinan RSB to middle position, dropped front tire pressure a few pounds, car corners superbly.

Replaced major driveline components with all BMW OEM parts: clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, rear main seal, giubo, giubo nuts/bolts, transmission mounts, clutch fork, throw out bearing, ball pin, spring clip, TOB guide bush, pilot bearing, shifter linkage bushings front and rear, exhaust manifold nuts/bolts.
