Why they don' build it

From a very good source I know the reason for not building it yet. Aston martin wants to get sold to another company because their production is so limited by ford that they can't produce it. They can build 3000 cars a year and for the production for the dbs, the replacement for the vanquish, they had to limited the production for the other cars. So people, have you got a lot of money, try to buy aston and largen the production so the rapide can go in production . Further i have got some new information about the dbs, but it's off topic I think, but if you guys insist, i'll give it to you.

KInd regards

I highly doubt the part about limiting them.

Just take note of the new $150,000 V8 Vantage N24 race car.

N24 for the Nürburgring 24 hour race.

From autoweek.com:

Porritt [Aston Martin's Vehicle Engineering Manager] got the car approved by Aston's top management "immediately when I asked [CEO] Dr. Ulrich Bez to drive."

Please tell us what you know about the DBS. I've been told by an AM regional rep that it hasn't been approved for production, yet.

Thanks,

Dan

The DBS is definitely going into production; expect to see it debut around October of this year. It will replace the Vanquish at the top of the Aston Martin range and will be priced slightly under 599GTB money.

Best guesses for performance look like this:

- around 1650kgs
- 500+ bhp
- 0-60 around 4sec
- top speed >200mph

The dbs wil replace the vanquish. It will have at least 550bhp. One thing i'll tell is that with the dbs there will be a special start up proces. Every dbs owner will get a cristal with the code of the car in it and he will have to put in into the start buton, when he has read it you can start the car.

Actually, Vanquish production ended this past summer. It's sad that the orginal Newport Pagnell factory will be no more. 'Was one of the last "make 'em one at a time by hand" classic auto mfgr. plants left. Some really great historical cars came out of that place. 'Hope AM preserves some kind of historical site there.

A shame... I've liked the Vanquish for all the time its been around. the DBS is very nice though. And the closing of the plant is very sad indeed. I guess hand made cars will be no more.
