For the price of that one you can buy an E46 M3 and even get some money over instead 230hp Beetle.

The choice is pretty easy, isn't it?

Guess VW only made this car for marketing purposes becaus it will not be a hit.

Cheers,
/Johan

The Beetle has never been that popular in Europe. I think that the Beetle RSI is intended to push up sales for the normal versions.

I don't expect the Beetle RSI to be a stunner. Granted, it has a very good engine, but the price is way to high.

Look at the following cars. They cost the same or even less:

1: BMW E39 ///M5
2: BMW E46 ///M3
3: BMW Alpina B3 3.3
4: Audi RS4
5: Porsche 996 Carrera
6: Mercedes C32 AMG
7: ect ect

take your choise.

Hehehehe

But seriously, The Beetle was a HUGE hit in North America, but has faded very fast. Dealers have a hard time selling them these days... I never understood why anyone would buy a Beetle that is technically the same as a Golf, just smaller cargo space and more expensive.... I guess the Euro buyers thought the same... So to even consider making a Beetle at that price is just insane! But goes to show that VW has way too much money...

The car to get now/soon would be the new mini ALPINA.

It will probably be a luxury version with full leather and automatic, given the latest Alpina models.

In UK it costs 55K pounds as it is not be imported so has to be done by specialist. 225bhp, 234lb ft, 1515kgs. 0-62mph 6.9 secs with a top speed of 140mph. Good posers car though and rear spoiler handy for picnics

I saw one in Monte Carlo the other day, and thought it looked awfull, looked like a large Jelly Mould with wheels.
People were paying more attention to the Skoda Octavia RS that was next to it, which really annoyed the owner.
