Post Gran Turismo 3

Hey fellow GT3ers out there,

I am wondering if anyone won any of the F1 cars yet? I am only halfway through the game so no where close to getting them. It's too bad there are no ///M cars in this game let alone having the 328ci as the only BMW .

These are my favorite cars in the game so far:

Tommy Kaira ZZII
P/W Ratio: 1.046
T/W Ratio: 0.110

Pagani Zonda C12S
P/W Ratio: 0.957
T/W Ratio: 0.076

What is your favorite(s)?

Hey Krm,

Do you know how many F1 cars there are to win?

I had the game for 2months, and only got through 7-8 %.
I simply got so disappointed over the car selection. 1! BMW and of cores 17 Toyota's...???
Who cares about driving all those small grandma rice cookers.

Did you play GT2? It was a little cheap that you could get more HP out of the 328 than the 528

By the way, if you have a Play station 1, try out TOCA Touring cars 2. . . . After playing that, GT will feel so slow.

Christian

Hi Christian,
If memory serves me right, there should be 6 F1 cars available as race prizes. I read this in a strategy guide before. Don't expect to be driving the Williams FW23 or any of the recent F1 cars as the most up-to-date one is a '94 F094/h whatever that means. I also read somewhere that they are not based off existing F1 cars and are purely fantasy models (no advertising fees). I just got halfway through the game. It gets so much better as I have so many cars to play with in my stable.

Thanks for your game suggestions. I will try it out if I find time outside of playing GT3

/Karman

I've completed about 60% of the game in 2 weeks and I have about 20 cars, including a F1, but the F1s are not based on real models but have the same technical specifications ( 700kg, 800hp approx).
There's only 1 BMW, the 328Ci, and no M cars.... that sucks...
But still GT3 is the best driving game I have EVER played.

My wife says that i'm crazy to play a game , but you know i used to help my son especially with car games , now his grown and has his own house but i got used to playing with him , i got an F1 car around 20% and IMO the game becomes too easy when you get one , the one thing that sucks is that you can't buy another tires than medium slicks , and on endurance races they wear out too fast. Here is a hint if you want an F1 car fast , get a fast car (around 600-700 hp at least) and enter the super speedway endurance , it's a little boring , but one of the 4 cars is an F1 (called polyphony 001 in the pal vers.) , endurances are quite boring , especially these one , but you don't have to concentrate on driving , because it's a round course , and the only thing you have to do is enter pit sometimes. When you have around 1000hp car with good-set gears (this is important) it'll take about an hour to drive 150 miles of this course , and after that you get 200k credits and one of four cars: F090/s (polyphony 001) it has 728 hp , or you also can win C5R , Tickford falcon race car, and not so cool clio race car (on the other hand you'll need it to complete clio race in pro league). Oh yeah , remember that if you change oil on a car (even a new one with 0 km/miles) you'll get more hp. My fav cars are: Esprits , tvrs (speed 12!!!) , astons (love 'em all) , rufs (CTR2) and tommy kaira , zonda's also nice but i can't belive that the C12 uses old 6.0 V12 394 hp from merc , but the way coolest car is IMO actually ford GT40 road car , and for performance use F1's (i guess i didn't say somethin you didn't know) but you'll feel like cheating when driving , also i think that there is a one big dissapoitment about the game : engine sounds (they sound like washing machines at most , but check GT40 , you'll love it i know) , if you want to get better precentage with ease and earn some cars also , complete arcade mode , if you complete time trials (thats hard) you'll get 2 million-credit panoz wich isn't super good for the most expensive car in the game (some fully tuned non-racing cars eat it with ease)but still good for getting started , call me crazy but i finished 94% of the game.

para22,

The "normal" Pagani Zonda uses the old 6.0 MB V12, but the newer C12 S uses a 550hp tuned AMG V12 .....

Yeah i know that , that's good they've changed it , but im not quite sure if it is an amg engine , because it has 7 liters of displacement , and i don't know merc engines like that , anyway , the first version of cars sucks , i don't know who got this brilliant idea to put a engine that was made to pull a 2 tone fat sedan with 5 pepole inside for at least 500.000km and don't brake? Oh maybe i'm just weird , when i'll make my sports car i'll put chevy suburban 7.3 liter 290 hp engine in it , or maybe two 4.0 R6d from jeep wrangler "sport" , what bout that- R12 ( ) with 8.0 L displacement and 360 hp , that's not funny , that's sad pepole come to such ideas , oh yeah , for that R12 i guess i'll have to make a car with hood bigger than viper's

Is there any way to cheat to get the cars or tracks? I don't have the time (and especially the skill ) to get far enough.

Is anyone using the Logitech GT Force Steering Wheel?

How does it compare to other video game steering wheels?

I really want to buy a PS2, just for this game, but driving games with the standard controller just seems too unrealistic. (where unrealistic means that I never get past being a frustrated intermediate driver)

The Logitech is the ONLY one to get, IMHO.

It's probably the most realistic steering wheel on the market , the force feedback is really nicely done IMO , althought for me and i think for everyone who drives a real car this wheel is too little , and i think that clutch would be cool , you could make perfect stars that way , and it would be nearly a real driving simulator , also some "town driving" mode with all cars from the game. you know , you could do lane-jumping and stuff like that without scare of being busted or crashing your car, and you could do it in the game so you wouldn't want to try it in real life. Also crashes would be great , i mean I don't care for visable damage because it would so hard to do to make it realistic , but i would like to see a car rolling over from time to time... also get rid of most of those rice cookers and put in some more mercs , rufs from all years , lotus omega , old lotus esprit (that one like form james bond) , old rufs , aston martin db5 (also from 007) , aston lagonda , alpinas , all the ///M cars (including M1) , more audis , more everyday cars , because the game is based on raced cars , and please make those exhaust sound good , it's really annoying to hear that every car runs like a vacuum cleaner and very similar , no mather if it's a 3-cyl 656 cc suzuki alto or 7 liter pagani zonda C12S or 5.5 supercharged V8 aston , all sounds shitty.
