1000-hp Bugatti Veyron

See link at bottom for good info on the Bugatti Veyron. Pretty outragous car. How many production cars will ever top this? It puts the McLaren F1 to shame.

1,000-hp
8 liter W-16 engine
4 turbos
7 speed
0-300 kph in 14 seconds!

ok im in love again. for quite some time i was feeling that there were no super cars out ther anymore. I have a re-established poster boy feeling in my stomach again now. i think it is a stunning achievment. It one of those cars that makes you question the use of a house and clothes .

These are the cars that you'll do nearly anything to have a ride in... sadly IMO most of us won't expierience this 14 sec 0-300 , i wonder what time would it have for 1/4 mile , under 10 s , that would be too cool but somehow i don't think it's possible , but on the other hand 1000hp , and i think it's lighter than a beast. Also this should be in the cars similar to BMW M5 , because the title says cars (almost) similar to the beast LOL , but also a sad thing is that IMO pepole that can afford a car like that usually won't use it , because they use a helicopter for shopping and a private-jet-plane for weekends , damn , true car lovers are too busy with driving and modifing their cars to earn this kind of money

That car is absolutely ridiculous. With 1001 horsepower, that badboy will need new tires every time you need to refuel (which should be about 100 miles per tank). I can't imagine that car in current form to make it to production.

Just think, compared with an ordinary E39 M5, this car has 2.5 times the power and probably no more than 70% the weight.

para22, I think you are right, I'll also post this in cars similar to the BMW M5.

Actually I think the Bugatti will be at least as heavy as the M5, if not heavier. This car is not stripped-out as the McLaren and itīs supposed to have all luxury-features.

This is still a design study, and the performance figure has yet to be proven.

I really doubt that the car would be almost as fast as an F1 car considering it probably will weigh 3 times more, have much bigger front area and "only" 20% more power.

Even if you compare it to the McLaren F1 which the figure seems a bit fast.

Also I think the car is one of the ugliest sport cars I've ever seen, come to think of it I can't think of anyone uglier right now, maybe the DeLorean but shouldn't count since it's no real sports car.
I think it looks like something from a Donald Duck magazine or some other comics.

Still, if those performance figures are true I would love to have one.

Cheers,
/Johan

I like the performance specs but I think the exterior leaves much to be desired.

Is that a car??

It looks like a cockroach

Personally, I am much more interested in seeing the debut of the Porsche Carrera GT which may very well be a better handling car than the McLaren F1...

Hehehe Yes it does! Not that bad from the rear, but from the front like a bug. What is the deal with the 1930 style Bugatti grill???

The Veyron is another of the VW Group CEO's, Dr. Ferdinand Piech, crazy ideas. a 1000bhp W16 engine? It's no Bugatti either! Its one of many idiotic ideas herr Piech has come up with. How many people will by a VW badged luxury saloon the size of the MB S-Class?

Now this is the car I've been waiting for

I just went out and bought 100 lottery tickets and feel lucky. I'll buy stock in Michelin for the tire problem Ben FR.

Whew, I'm breathing heavy.

Gorgeous!!!!!
