Peake Code Issues

I have had the SES light on twice in the past week. The codes I had were as follows:

04/30/07
AA - Secondary air system, flow too low
8F - E-box-fan
d0 - Misfire during warm-up, Cyl #4
d4 - Misfire during warm-up, Cyl #8
d5 - Misfire during warm-up, multiple cylinders
b3 - Catylsyt system efficiency, Cyl #5-8

05/02/07
8F - E-box-fan
AA - Secondary air system, flow too low

The code descriptions were taken from Table 18. Can anyone give me some advice on the codes?

AA is the carbon blockage of the secondary air system. Eiterh heads off and$8000 or powerchip's patch, unless you can get some goodwill from bmw.

the ebox fan seems to be coming up more often as these cars age. There is a fan in the electronics box, where the dme is, i assume this code means the fan has failed and you could potentially overheat your dme etc.

The misfire codes, i wouldnt' worry about. I often have some random misfire codes stored.

Can this fan be easily replaced and where exactly is the dme? Is it located behind the glovebox or behind the passenger footwell?

I see you already have the powerchip software... they can cure the secodnry air fault. Do a search on the carbon block fix.

How are the o2 sensors/MAFs/Plugs? Can lead to misfires once the DME can no longer accomodate the adjustments required as these age.

The DME is under the cabin air filter box, passenger side, under the hood. You take out the filter, then remove the housing. You'll see a white plastic box, gazillion screws hold the lid on. Dme under that, fan under the dme.
