Check your guibo!

Had my clutch replaced by the dealer (thank you extended maintenance) and they recommended I replace the guibo/flex disc since it was cracked. Since it's made of rubber, I had to pay for it myself (CPO and extended maintenance covers nothing made of rubber pretty much), so I got the old part back.

Here's mine after 62k miles. Not too bad, but I'm glad the tech recommended it before I ended up out of my coverages and it failed causing something else much more expensive to break.

and ugly!

I would imagine being rubber that miles is only one of the factors, just having the car sit could have it dry out as well and cause problems with cars that have lower miles.

Thanks for the tip!

Now how much for parts and labor?

Is this a DIY type of work? Easy to replace?

Thanks in advance.

Part is about $100 from pelicanparts.com. If you go to google and just type "guibo", the first few hits have some DIY's on it. Looks reasonable for a DIY. Probably 1 or 2 hours of labor at a shop.

I had mine replaced while the car was at an indy shop for a clutch replacement. Don't know how bad it was, but someone at this board recommended to change it now, so I did.
