"True supercharging effect" from an air filter???

Right.

These guys must be the same guys who a couple of years ago were marketing the 'cyclonic vortexer' or whatever that thing was called. It was supposed to create little tornado-action vortices in your intake to improve ram-air effect. Right.

well if you read it, it is actually a cold air intake....but looks flimsy to me.

My younger sister has had a BMC cold air induction kit on her car for a couple of years and it hasn't broken as far as I know. The advert doesn't mention if you get two sets of filter and pipes (which you need becuase there are two air boxes to replace) so if you decide to get it, make sure it includes two of them

Edited to mention that just in case you are unfamiliar with mods, don't expect too much of a power gain with Cold Air Induction Kits on the M5. I believe a CAI gives the M5 an extra 5-6 bhp or so. They do increase induction noise which I, and many others quite like, but it's not to everyones taste.

keep in mind that this is not really an M5 "kit" but just two generic bmc cda's.

If you search the board for "BMC CDA" you should find a thread that i made a few years ago where i fitted a pair of these to my car (for a couple of weeks). Can't say i felt any increase in hp, but i was plagued by ses lights from what i figured to be a difference in airflow on one side vs the other. The fit was not great, but worked, with the supplied generic hangers and brackets. I gave up and returned it in the end.

Maybe they are reputable, but the over-strident tone of the product description, along with lack of any data or references (including the patent mentioned) creates an instant unfavorable impression with me. We've all heard high flying claims before from companies looking to cash in with dubious products. Good that they've already been tested and rejected by one of us.
