Maths Lesson number 4.

535i +Money -Sense -Longevity -Relibility +Insurance Premium = 700Bhp

535i +sold +money +class +style = M5

PS.

535i +700bhp +10000miles = bits of engine & transmission all over the outback

Assuming you have seen it on www.abcwarrior.com

then now;

everything back on, wheel appears visually straight.

to do :

1 wheel bearing lock plate to go on, 35p !
1 driveshaft bolt to go on
broken manifold bolt to take off
exhaust to go back on
bleed brakes
adjust handbrake

see if it goes thru a MOT

see if it goes thru a BMW KDS check

Sounds a lot, but believe me when I say its 95% complete.

If it turns out to be no good after all this, then I`m jury rigging the trailing arm and turning it into a trackday car after I`ve stripped and sold everthing in it.

ETA : 1-2 weeks til D-Day !!

Some of the earlier race cars got 700hp from 1.5 liters. All it takes is HUGE boost, ungodly RPM, exotic fuels and very strong components. The engine won't be drivable, won't meet emissions, and won't run very long.

Doing this in a nice luxury sports sedan, to me, is rather silly.

This looks like a older magazine, I wonder how long the car lasted??? I'm sure the car was "interesting" to drive.... But man it looks like a mess underneath the hood.... ALPINA sure did a nicer job on thier BiTurbo... Of course the turbo where smaller, but still... what a mess.... Would have been easier with NOS....., I mean since they want to ruin it anyway...

Regards
Carl

No, not an old magazine, just a poor scan.

The article comes from a UK mag called Performance BMW (it`s crap, all riced E30s) and I think this was July /August 2001.

Can`t tell how long since THEY found it, but thats when it was published.

i think taht if they used lower compression pistons and kept the boost low the engine would actually live some time
exept that u would also need good connecting rods a high quality crank and a real good clutch )3 plate!!!) i dont like the idea of ruining a cars shape by adding a sky scraper wing or other stuff although i like the ac shinizter models

The only thing I like about that car are the ALPINA rims.

That body kit is too much for me...

Of course, we all are diferent, I respect that other people like it.
