Update regarding my Problem after installing Hartge

I have received my cam after 2 weeks in the dealr's workshop but with the original BMW wheels. BMW said all the problems happened to me was because of the Hartge springs & 21" rims that I have installed. Onthe other hand, Harte is saying they have tried the wheels and tested and every thign works just perfect. I have explained to Hartge that the roads in Saudi is not soo good and you could have bumbs and rough roads but the technical manager their said it should not cause any problem.

I have agreed with Hartge on the following plan, to use the original rims on the car for one week, then if every thing is ok I will put the Hartge ones and try it, if everything is ok then GREAT if not then we are sure 100% that thoes rims are not suitable for Saudi roads and Hartge will cover any damages under warrenty.

My own opinion is that I lost confident on thoes 21" rims because of the problems I faced ( I have changed 4 SHOCK ABSORBERS & 2 Mountain in 2 WEEKS!!) so I have sent an email to Hartge asking if I can exchange thoes 21" with 20". I do not know what would be their replay.

What is your opinion? what would you do in my case?

I personally think 21s are too big wheels for this kind of car...even 20 is to big!
It might look good (I dont like it myself) but I dont think its a suiteable wheel size for this kind of car....especially since you were well aware of the condition of the saudi roads.
Go stock size!

I have run the same setup on my car, without any problems, for almost 40.000kms so far. You must have VERY bad roads in Saudi!

I believe it just depends on the roads conditions, and also 21" rims are really BIG... I really do not know from an engineering point of view how this should affect the life of the shock absorbers and their upper-mountians

The 21" Hartge wheels are very big and very heavy. IMO, they do not comport with the purpose and identity of the M5 - an understated performance and luxury sedan - because they detract from all of these functions.

They seem analogous to a set of triple-D breast implants for a woman. They will certainly get you a bunch of attention, but the wrong kind, and their problems make them something most don't want to live with for a very long time.

With 21" wheels, did these manufacturers/tuners do it from a "bling" stand point or engineering stand point?

bling factor...there is no way you can improve the ride in any way by putting on SUV wheels (back in the days my X5 4.6is had 20s)
