Got the call

I got the call for an October build, Nov delivery, on e46 M3.

The only down side really is that I had my hopes set on getting SMG II. I would have liked to wait for SMG II, however, a few factors swayed me to get the manual for now:
- Nobody knows when SMG is comming to Canada, or even IF it will come to Canada. Sales managers have not offered any information on this at all so far, to the point where they don't know what SMG is yet.
- I've waited for this allocation for over a year. It's a small dealer, and they don't get many allocations. Since March, they've only received two cars... the LSB demo which I turned down, and a cabriolet. If I turn this car down, it could be 6 months or more before the next allocation, and there still might be confusion over SMG.

So, I'll go for it. I still have another deposit down as well. If it turns out SMG 2 does show up in Canada at some point maybe I'll get an allocation. I'll consider upgrading at that time if I can manage to do so without taking too much of a loss.

If anyone else has info on SMG 2 for Canada give me a holler. Thanks!

You have an allocation at Brian Jessel BMW right? If so, when did they tell you you'd get your car? I'm kinda curious because they've told us a year wait for the M3 coupe and Cab

I'm actually getting the car at another dealer where I had #1 spot. This is their first real allocation for an M3 coupe. The first was the LSB demo and the next was a cabriolet.

I am suprised that there weren't any other orders in Calgary? Mabey its just the dealer that you went to...Because i know that there are alot of well off people that live here, i see a couple ferrari's and Lambo's every summer, What can you expect from the best city in North America?

Actually it was Regina that got me the allocation.
I tried to get a deposit in early-on in Calgary but sales staff I spoke with never took me seriously. After 6 months of this I finally started looking elsewhere. Even in Regina, I could not get them to accept a deposit, and it was not until I finally spoke with the Sales Manager, three months after my first inquiry, that they finally took a deposit. Brian Jessel took my deposit the very first time I met them.

Since Regina is much smaller volume, they honestly did not know if they would get more than one or two cars a year. Given the first unit was a demo, and the second a convertible, I was extremely lucky to get this allocation. So I kept the other deposit down as insurance. I was really hoping to get SMG II, however, if I like the stick, I'll may cancel that deposit and use it for 2nd set of tires or something.
