Yup! Obvious suspension changes and suspected engine upgrades. Had a tough time keeping up with him on the straightaways.

Hmmm... sounds like the beast junior has some serious engine mod if you can't keep up with him on the straight. I'm not surprised he outrun you in the corners though, even if he was stock.

Later,
Kenneth

Question...

Hey Mark, how many people were in each car? It looks like the M3 has 2 and the Dinan M5 had 3. You must have been faster if you could catch him. Passing requires a larger margin of excess speed as we know from watching all forms of racing on TV. The question is, once you caught him was he able to pull away? If not, I believe you were faster. Cool stuff.

In my opinion on a race track the skill of the driver is far more important than the car although if you have both a skilled driver and a fast car then thats the ultimate. I was at a recent track day and one of the fastest cars there was a track prepared E30 M3 which was blowing away much faster cars mainly due to the skill of the driver and the handling capabilities of the M3. Just my 2 cents worth

Is it true someone had their M3 stolen at the UK Track day?

Mr Grinch,

I think you are confusing this with one of Johann's posts when he was in Germany and a UK guy got his M3 stolen there not at the UK track day, unless a second one has gone!!

HBRAMSTEDT - Only two people in each car. Driver and Instructor.
Think my instructor was having as much fun as I was. He kept cussing the other driver out for not letting me pass on the straight so I could show him the faster line through the twisties!
By the end of second lap he kept me nosed right into his bumper for a full lap to let him know someone was back there. Guess the other driver thought it was a double reflection of his back seat!
