Where do we wash our cars during the Extravaganza?

I was just curious where there are facilities to wash our cars in the Monterey area? I am sure they have self serve places, but they will probably be packed with other people wanting a clean car as well.

Can any of the veterans of this event offer some advice? Thanks.

Sandy

Stay away from El Estero. There is a self serve place on Freemont close to the Hyatt. I will try to track down the address.

If that does not work use my driveway!

Thanks for the offer

Scott,

If you have the address of the self serve, that would be great. I plan to wash it Thursday evening, whenever the group of us arrive from Sears point. Thanks.

Sandy

The coin operated self-serve is less than five minutes from the Hyatt. Address is 2230 North Freemont in Monterey. The M5 Nav System seems to get pretty confused in this area thus here are the directions.

From the Hyatt Parking Lot:

-Right out of Parking lot (north) on Mark Thomas Drive
-At the stop light (1/2 mile) go straight but the street turns into Fairgrounds Road
-At stop sign (about a block) go left onto Casa Verde Way
-At stop light (about a block) go right onto Freemont (north).
-Self-serve is up a couple of blocks on your right – yellow sign.

From Highway 1 North:

-Take the “North Freemont – Seaside” Exit and go up about three blocks.

Never have used this self-serve but it is one of the only ones around. Does not look great, however, assuming the water works I suspect it will meet your needs.

El Estero, which was mentioned, is also close however, they “hand wash” your car with rags used on mom’s minivan and dry it in a similar fashion. In addition, they do put the cars on a track which may damage the M wheels. I won’t take my cars there.

Questions let me know.
