About the M8 prototype...

So, finally, all my efforts of getting exclusive footage of the M8 prototype were unsuccessful :-( Only maybe three pictures of the 500+/600+ hp lightweight supercar exist, and I wanted to change that.

There has been and still is interest in that car and many magazines and TV stations have asked but all were denied access or information. They say the car is not fit for images. It has never even been fit for public roads. It is only loosely patched together and the interior is virtually non-existent. That's also the reason why it is not in their museum. The car is stored in what they call their 'Giftschrank' which could be translated as 'poison-storage'.
Nothing could change their mind, not even me paying for all costs, paying fees, offering complete and unrestricted cooperation in accepting whatever their terms and conditions would have been. As long as the order of not disclosing anything comes from big boss Milberg himself, nothing will be disclosed :-(

That's it I suppose...

...Mike

I have the same quest Mike ;-)

Maybe if the Owners Group become important (and official), then we can we have some "power" and get our dream M8 back !

They have loads of different stuff down there, like an M3 flat bed pick up based on the M3 (E30) to run around their site in, an M3 Touring (E30) which I think should have made production, and an M7 (M5 engined, 7series, 6 speed box etc etc) built for one particular director who moved elsewhere, and an E39 M5 Touring (which looks rather nice)
They are all one off's, not for sale or never to be put into production, and doomed to spend the rest of their natural in the Giftschrank, plus many more.

Once or twice I heard about a V16 engine in a 7 series. I even saw a picture on the internet (which must have been a very good fake if it was one at all) but unfortunately I didn't save it Does anyone know details?

Hi Mike

A couple of months ago in the US Car Club magazine Roundel there was a picture of the engine.

"July 8 1987, design of the V16 code name Goldfish begun. It was dynoed at 408 hp and was 6.6 liters. Weight ca 300kg. The engine was never intended for production, but was more a design exerise to show the flexibility of the BMW engine range"

Maybe we will see a V16 64 valve in the BMW Rolls Royce???

Judging from the picture above, I don't think at all that the car looks loosely patched together. I rather think it looks quite well built, at least the exterior! There may be other reasons for BMW not showing the car or giving any details about it!!!

Anyway the car deserves a place in their museum but I read somewhere that it's scheduled for the crusher.
THAT MAY NOT BE TRUE!!!!!

Best Regards Stefan
