Interior differences between regular 5 series vs M5?

What are the main differences interior wise between the M5 and the base 5 series? What's the extra equipment you can get as a option on the M you cant get on the 5?

A 10-cylinder 500 HP monster under the hood is the biggest one that comes to mind!

interior differences in favour of the M5:
-leather wrapped center console
-alcantara (suede) headliner (not sure on USA on that one...)
-different wood options
-different leather options

options in favour of M5:
-full leather interior (door panels, dash, glove box door, etc..)
-active seat bolsters
-heads-up display system

thats all I can think of right now.... the main thing is the 500 pure german horses under the hood and an insane 7 speed paddle shift gearbox, if you dont care about that stuff, then a 5-series 550i isnt so bad as an alternative if your choosing which one to buy.

cheers

In addition to those mentioned already, lots of small touches in the cabin are unique to the M5:

- Different dials
- Different steering wheel (with coloured stitching)
- M foot rest
- Unique metal I-drive knob (2006 onwards)

Additionally, many options on lesser models are standard on the M5, for example the climate control system is the most advanced version.

The head-up display on the M5 shows more information (RPMs?) than on regular E60 models.

Also, the active side-bolster seats are not available on regular models.

So, which are you getting?

Correctamundo!

Outside of mechanicals and alcantara, the 5-series has more options available to it. M5 cannot get active cruise, night vision. The interior wood is different, and on the 5-er you have a wood panel below the CD/DVD combo and on the rear center column. Not so for the M5. M5 just has more options standard, but less options overall.

Active Stearing, Active Cruise Control, Dynamic Drive, Comfort Seats, Steptronic, Manual - but these options are not for a true sports car, except for MT ofcourse.

EDIT:

Oh yeah, 3 more things I like in my E60 which are not available in M5 - Aux heating with remote controller (webasto), heated wheel and active seats.
