Update-No 6 Speed Manual for US--Yet - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

BMWNA released a bulletin on July 14 that says the following:
1. 6 speed manual trans for US is still in development, and not available for ordering yet.
2. TPM now standard
3. CD changer deleted from standard equipment to allow for connection of iPod adapter (CD changer available as accessory).

Same basic info for M6 coupe and convertible, except 6 speed manual trans will not be available "before the summer of 2007."

The ordering system will not accept the 6 speed manual trans as an option at this point.

BMW released a bulletin today stating that the Manual will be offered in the US Market, but is still undergoing serious testing before release. There is no schedual date for launch of the manual transmission and for right now SMG will continue to be the only transmission offered. They also said that the manual in the M6 Coupe/Cab you will not see before the summer of 2007. There is no pricing on either the 07 M5 or M6 Coupe/Cab for the US, as soon as I get it...you will have it!

I am kind of happy it is not available yet. Putting a 6-speed manual on this car would completely take away from the experience, and in my opinion, would take it down a few notches in terms of exclusivity.

From what I have heard, it will ONLY be for the US since the rest of the world is sold on the SMG being the best driving experience.

I have also heard that there will be a price increase in the USA for 07 models- i know for sure that the 650 convertible MSRP is going up by $2100.

Isn't it strange that new colours are offered for the BMW M6 (one new blue) but none for the M5 for 2007?

BMW has communicated that the 6 speed manual trans will be available starting with October production.
