Advice / guidance to ask dealer for upon delivery?

I'll be collecting my beast in the next 2 weeks. What advice /guidance should I be sure ask dealer for? For example, the oil level indicator seems to be confusing? Anything else? Thanks.

Give them the check, sign the paperwork and take the car for a drive. Don't bother chatting with the dealer.

Don't ask for guidance, ask for a couple of quarts of oil anda funnel... you'll need 'em.

Between the link I provided and a few other comments, I think you have what you need.

I would suggest you go ahead and let the dealer do their normal prep on the car. Don't avoid that. Some will ask the dealer NOT to wash the car. Well...it has cosmoline all over it and it's a pain to remove. Let them deal with it.

If you don't want the front plate, make sure you ask them not to attach the bracket. But...ask them to give you the bracket. That way if you ever need it, you have it. It's painted to match the car.

Depending on your dealer, you might also want to be very specific about no dealership stickers/badges on the trunk. I think it's an absolute sin for a dealership to attach anything permanent/semi-permanent to a car just to advertise their dealership. If they want to mark $1,000 off my car, I might consider it, but even then I probably wouldn't want it there.

And as PPG4 said, get a relationship going immediately with the service manager and the service advisor that will be handling your car...and ask for a quart or two of oil now since you know the car will burn through oil. If they won't give it to you, they should at least acknowledge the fact that the car burns oil and give you an option to handle it (mine said just to drop by anytime and they'll check out the oil/filter really quick and top if off.)

Congratulations on your new car coming!

My dealership routinely puts front plate in trunk. No holes drilled or anything added to the car without the express written permission from the buyer. I thought that was great news when I heard it.

I don't think this is an option in the UK. All pictures I have seen so far of Euro M5s have front license plates.
