Hola Amigos!

Hello guys, it's my first time posting in this forum, this forum is the BEST! I currently have a '06 M3 but plan to purchase a '07 M5 next year. Caught a glimpse of a purplish blue M5 on I-85 southbound at 9:30 am in gwinnett county, I think it's an awesome color.

Welcome! You're right. This a great forum.
BTW, it wasn't purple. Interlagos Blue.

Well, the reason I didn't go for IB despite a lot of recommendations is that I also think it looks like purple, actually almost violet (yuck) in certain low light situations.

The reason I DID go for IB is...well...actually I never saw the color before the car arrived. But I actually love the color more than I thought I would! IR was never a top choice for me, but after more and more board members got some good pictures of theirs, it would definitely have been a toss-up had I been able to see both in person and choose the color. Either way, it's ALL good.

Welcome! Since you've seen IB in person then you should definately order that color. Most IBers bought without seeing in person and love it.

Besides, purple is quite popular south of the border.

Welcome on board.

IB is indeed the best colour, but you guys in the Colonies must have very odd sunlight as my IB M5 always looks blue & never looks purple.

You'll see some just detailed pictures in My Gallery & blow me if anyone thinks any of them look purple.

Welcome to this crazy community of very intense M5 owners. IB is the fastest color by the way. When I ordered my car all the dealer could show me was a tiny one inch strip on the computer. I was thinking of the silverstone but I could not tell if it would be silver with pastel blue and look like the World's fastest Easter Egg.

OMG...that really summarizes my feeling about that color! That and since my wife truly hated the color, it wasn't even a consideration.
