Remote Key Programming

Can someone help me with programming the remote key to my car?? I just picked up my spare key today and didn't have time to have the dealer program it.

Thanks in advance.

It's been a while but if i recall correctly this is what you do. You might have to do this for both of your keys if you just got a new one.

1) Get in and close all doors.
2) Turn on the ingition to position 1 and turn off quickly (No more than 5 seconds) to start the process.
3) Remove the 1st key from ignition.
4) Hold the key up near the rearview mirror for best reception.
5) Hold down the unlock button and press the lock button 3 times. Release the unlock button. Wait a few seconds and you should hear all the doors lock and unlock. This is your signal that the key should be programmed.
6) Quickly repeat steps 4 & 5 for key #2 etc.

Not 100% sure, but I believe it's a dealer programmable option only.

You can program the key yourself to the point where you can press the buttons and the car will lock/unlock. Vossen's instructions are pretty much dead on.

If you are talking about having individial settings per key, key memory, then the dealer would have to do that

Thanks for the tips. When my wife's leg is no longer broken , I'm sure she's going to want to drive the beast. Will Vossen10's programming instructions not allow for driver/key memory??

Driver key memory (i.e., seat and mirror position, climate control settings (I think) should work fine - that isn't an option you turn on or off with programming. (So in other words that should work fine.)

The dealer programmed features, if I remember correctly, have to do with alarm chirp and whether 1 or 4 doors open with the first click, and whether the right side mirror tilt-down-in-reverse feature is enabled.

Key problems

For some stupid reason my key keeps getting "deprogrammed" every couple of weeks. I've been taking it into the dealer to have them "reprogram" it and they seem to be able to do it no problems. I followed the instructions above perfectly but I can't get it to work at all. Please help!
