Possible to get out scratches from Nav-screen?

When i got my car last week, it was in great condition inside and out. The only gripe I have is that the previous owner scratched the nav screen. It seemed like he used a rough cloth to clean one side of it and you can see all these little scratches under the sunlight(you cant tell at night). The screen feels smooth so i know the scratches do not run deep. I looked into getting a new nav head unit but that costs almost 2k and I read it gets complicated when you go aftermarket. Is there any way I can buff out the scratches or put on some solution? If this is something I can't fix, is there any shops in the LA area that can do this work? Thanks for the input.

Not sure if it would work, but I've used metal polish and a soft cotton cloth to take out small scratches in things like mobile phone screens before now.

If you do go with this, then I would suggest you proceed with caution !

An Idea?

Yeah, I've heard of people using a special polishing/cleaning solution to clean their IPOD screans and other electronics, maybe you could try that? Not sure where to tell you to get it though, maybe some electronics store that sells IPODS could point you in the right direction...good luck!

Anyone else have ideas?

Nav unit heads go on ebay for about $500, now..this is the widescreen one I speak of. Prices change.

If you have issue with yours, I'll buy the scratched one from you, after you scoop a new one off ebay. Takes 10-15 minutes to swap.

Let me know.

Good call - we actually have a product just for this - and works really well on the instrument cluster as well.

Don't try it on the nav screen! I doubt there's anything out there to take scratches out of that kind of display - you'll only make it worse IMO.
