Insane driver with a 469 HP Ruf Porsche around Nurburgring!

Have a look here, this guy is CRAZY! It's rumoured that the driver is Horts von Sauma, the chief editor of Sport Auto, and excellent German magazine. He is the one who have the lap record for standard cars on Nurburgring, with the Gemballa twin-turbo GT3 I think it was. But anyway, have a look at these, the second one is the most crazy... Se at what speeds he ovetakes the other cars: (around 12 MB each)

That is Stephan Roser; AKA "Sideways Stephan". He was the test driver for RUF. The complete video can be had for about 60DM. Mine was free because I am a frequent visitor to Pfaffenhausen

I found his steering to be interesting. Sometimes he is clearly shuffle-steering, and other times he steers in the "racing" style, where he holds at 9 and 3.

I wonder when/why he decides to steer each way?

I was particularly interested at the various points where he has to "saw the wheel" back-and-forth. I presume that this is at moments when he is fighting to keep control of his car....

Very enjoyable!

And, I might add, VERY SCARY!!!

Can you imagine sitting in the passenger seat with this guy? Yikes. I wonder if Walter Rohrl (Porsche's famous chief test driver) drives in a similar manner?

"Look, ma, no gloves!" My hands start to sweat just watching this hair-raising video. Hmmmm....wonder if Greg, in his 911T, can emulate "Sideways Stephen's" techniques? Piece-of-cake, right, Greg?

Available for home theater viewing!

All right--I just had to track this down. This video, "Faszination," is available from the American RUF distributor, Stefania Corporation for $59 US. You can find it here.

I gotta see this with higher quality output!

Enjoy!
