Is it bad when you park your 996TT outside?

To make room for this mo fo.

Picked it up at around 5 today and decided to call it a night.

What a lovely car. Intuitively easy to drive the SMG - all makes perfect sense. There is an entire universe of **** to fart around with inside this car. Makes the inside of my Porker look like a tractor. I've been having a button and switch overdose. Guess I'd better pop a few jars in the garage and set about the operator's manual.

What a blast!

Hi Dave,

No offense, but would you think differently if you had a 993TT ?

Just asking...

EBMCS03,

Perspective, PLEASE...

993 owners didn't toss 'em for the 996. The air-cooled's are (and will remain) classic. A lot of it is about the driving experience dervied from heritage and more. Toss the old M3CSL? Older M5's?? Where's Ferry when you need him?

When the E70? M5 comes out, I guess everyone will dump their E60 like an old ipod.

No offense, of course, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Technology for technology's sake...OK, but some things SHOULD remain reverent...

I know, I know, beauty -> eye -> beholder.

Not saying that the 993 is bad. What I ment was that if its a 993 its old enough and does not cost "price wise" as a M5 and is not new anymore so it can sleep outside instead of inside the garage.

I think you jumped on me too quick. I hope you were able to tell I wasnt completly too serious with my post.

P.S. the next M5 would be a F10.

That's ok...I didn't mean to jump!!!

Yes, the 993 is older, I guess it's a sentimental thing. In my case, I work too much to drive mine as much as I'd like, so it's still new! I simply love character and it's implied integrity. We say that about many things; makes us feel good.

why outside?

If you can afford an M5 and a 996tt why not build a bigger garage?

I had the same dilemma. I kept the 996tt outside and the beast inside.

Time to change your sig Dave!

My problem is similar to yours, except that with a barely 2 car garage, I'm forced to park my M5 outside, while the Stradale gets the shelter! Kind'a sucks, but with space so tight in there, they'll both go in in case of an emergency only, like a hurricane! Congrats, btw!
