It's Finally Here

My Silver Gray arrived yesterday with 4 miles on the clock and I am on my way to getting to 1200 ASAP. Initial thoughts:
  • SMG is awesome. Have owned only manuals before this car and the negative feedback surrounding this technology is ridiculous IMO.
  • Love the Olive Ash wood. Unusual (and I was nervous since I ordered without seeing) choice, but I suggest anyone thinking about ordering should look at it.
  • Even in p400 mode, the speed/sound is intoxicating. It makes my previous M3 feel like an "Ordinary" car.
  • Technology integration is dizzying. Treo synched instantly, Sirius, HUD, EDC, Nav, Multifunction seats...and I am just learning.
More comprehensive report to come after first service. Thanks to everyone on this board for helping me decide on the right options & color.

PS Tried posting pix but was having system issues. Will try again later.

hnazar,

I ordered the same olive ash on my M6 with Full Leather Silverstone II. What color interior do you have to go with the olive ash?

Very interested to see some pics.

Congratulations and take it easy during break in.

Thx.

Beautiful car, congrats.

Since BMW NA shows that the portland / silver gray combo isn't offered, I assume that you had to special order this combination ?

If so, how long did it delay your order and at what cost, if I may ask?
