Breaking the tires loose in 3rd

This car is incredible. Today, driving a bit aggressively (P500, S6) I broke the tires loose going into third not once, twice but three times. Each time was on an entrance ramp going on the expressway. The shifts are brutal in S6 @ 8000 rpms but damn it is worth it after hearing those tires chirp in 3rd.

We are talking about breaking the tires loose going about 75 mph....yikes.

Cheers ///

Wow, you guys make me feel I am on a different planet. I simply cannot see myself going to an SMG... Maybe I need to drive the new Beast non-stop for a while to appeciate it, otherwise these paddle shifters just don't do it for me. Even with the manual coming out, looking at the gearing, for this engine the SMG is likely the more optimal choice though...

The chirping tires in 3rd does sound like hell of a lot fun!

Do you have the filters removed? I found my M5 to be much more willing to spin in 3rd after the removal.

Had it happen to me in my M6 with the road a bit damp in fourth gear at 120mph.

WOT S6 shifts are brutal on the whole drivetrain and so I don't do them too often. I normally lift the throttle a bit during the shift to minimize the jolt unless I have a reason to get that extra bit out.

I've even had some nice wheelspin on fast getaways with the winter tires (Pilot Alpins) which I found very satisfying!

Can't wait to get the summer tires back on soon.

Best regards,

Spiroman
