wheels/tyres
For the enthusiastic amongst us, how do you keep the multispoke alloys and the tyres clean, or put another way, how do you ensure that all the dust etc has been cleaned from those intricate spokes?
Do you use an available cleaner, or is it done purely by hand and soapy water. There are a lot of things available off the shelf, some contain different chemicals to others. What produces the good results.

I use the following:
1. a good brush
2. a mild cleaner from SONAX (Felgen Reiniger)
3. lots of time!
After spraying the wheels with warm water and soap, I spray the cleaner on them. I use the brush to loosen the brake dust/dirt and then rinse the wheels/brakes with lots of water.
20 spoke wheels take some time to clean, but you quickly develop a routine to do it efficiently.

I must admit, I use soapy water to soak them in, then use a cleaner over here called 'Wonder wheels', which is brushed on (brush included) and this does a good job. As I am always wary of causing damage to the wheel, I only do this approx once every 4/6 weeks, between then I use soapy water.

Hi guys,
Last friday I parked the car in one of La Bellaīs street ( Andorra, near France). When I got back to the car I noticed that a very big ***** had made a couple of scratches with a key or knife. The scratches go from the rear indicator to the front indicator. Is it posible to remove them with a product?( the car colour is Alpine white).
I would apreciate the help. Thanks in advance.
Regards, MTY.

Nice of them! just goes to show there are arrogant gits all over the place with no regard for other peoples property.
How deep are the scratches? If they are shallow (very), then a mild cutting agent may get them out. You can get items on the market that fill and polish at the same time, but never having used them I couldn't comment on there usefullness.

Hi Andy,
The scratches are shallow but they take the whole length of the car. Iīll try with mild cutting agent( as you say), If It doesnīt work, Iīll take the car the coachbuilderīs(?) ( the guys who paint the cars...).
Those bastards thought my car was better with the Deko-set on it. I donīt think so...
Thanks very much for your help.
With best regards,
MTY.

Mikel,
Sorry to hear about this!
I will never understand why some people get so jealous of other peoples nice cars that they want to deface them!
IMO this is an incredibly stupid thing to do.
When I see a nice car it puts a smile on my face, and makes my day just a little bit better.
I wish you at least had caught the guy doing it.

some time ago, I knew a guy who would go along the road with a permanent marker pen, and would draw a thick line down the side of every car he walked past, when I asked why, he said it was 'because the cars were not his, and he didn't see why they should own them and not him' ???
We walked away and didn't bother with him again
Keep us up to date on what you do.

Hi,
I started cleaning the scratches yesterday afternoon. As I was cleaning them, I notice that I could see ( in most of them) a yellow paint (under the white paint). I immediately took the car to the coachbuilderīs(?) .
He told me I was lucky because all of them had been made with a very sharp knife, easy to remove them without painting the car.( as he told me, the problem is when they are made with keys...). He told me the yellow paint is high quality protective paint.
I also asked him to told me about the best car washing product, ZYMOL was his response ( recomend me using it at least once every month). I have found a link for the people who is interested in this product(http://www.zymol.co.uk ). He explained me how to use. If someone is interested in how to use please let me know.
I couldnīt caught the guy who did that; when I arrived to the car he had gone. What most hurts is that the street was full of people and the people did nothing about this!! I canīt belive that.

glad you got a good response from the coachbuilder.
Peoples standards have dropped, when they see somebody doing something bad, nobody looks twice to stop it.
