Tomorrow's Service Visit

Owned the beast for 3 weeks now, amazing car and I love it every minute. First service visit tomorrow, and do i have a list for them

-passenger side view mirror tilts down in reverse but does not come back up
-Nav system changes scales on its own, always back to 1/2 mile scale.
-Loud whine noise @ front of car
-Clutch Pedal Squeek
-Excessive whine when turning the wheel for parking lot moves
-SES light on
-Dry Rot on all (4) Tires (What is the CPO Process?!)

Thank god for factory warranty! I already know they will immedately come back with unable to reproduce customer complaint Follow-up to be posted tomorrow

Tires aren't covered under the car's warranty. If they were dry rotted you should have had the P.O. fix it before you bought it.

The first two things are not fixable. The rear view mirror will fail to return if it is not given enough time to angle all the way down. It's a firmware glitch and there is no known cure, although that problem doesn't exist in my M3.

The nav system often changes scale on its own. I could never figure out why. It might be something that's fixed with the latest v.26 Nav operating system software, so ask the dealer to reflash it.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."

Did you know about these problems before you purchased the car? or did they pop up within the last three weeks?
By the way CPO inspection is a joke Do a search and you will find the same attitude towards CPO inspections from many others!
I would also recommend purchasing a code reader, for future "SES" lights!

Well, I think if a dealership is willing to CPO/sell a car they should at least make it road safe. Now if they think it is safe to drive a car with 400hp on the road w/ these tires, i'll sent them a letter and note it

These are just things i found in the last three weeks, really all minor and does not affect the performance of the car. I figured the CPO was a joke, i doubt they even took a look at the car, but it's a good way to stick it to them

When through the issues - Told me the dry rot tires are okay to drive with as it passed New York State inspection, that's my proof that it is safe to drive... I am unsure why dealers think every car owner is clueless about cars. Let's see what they come back with tomorrow.

Btw this is competition bmw here in smithtown new york.

Driving hard on tires with dry-rot is not exactly my idea of a fun time.

Not yet....

btw, the reason i found the dry rot because i took off the OEM wheels to install some 19" LMs So i won't be driving on them anyway, but they should do what's right.
