Post Alpina Meeting/Rally

Hello all you Alpina owners out there.
Although my location shows UK, I am currently working in Germany (near Moenchengladbach) and so the rest of my post really applies to Germany-based owners, or European owners at least (unless you Stateside guys are interested, of course).

This is just an idea and I am floating it to see what sort of interest there may be:

What do people think of arranging a meet/rally for Alpina owners (that is, of all variants of Alpinas) - somewhere reasonably central where we can all meet, talk Alpinas (if necessary) and drive etc?

We need to gauge interest before plunging into making any commitments - but I would appreciate your feedback.

What do you think?

Regards,

Neil

I would be interested in principle, subject to location and time.

I live in Western Holland (near The Hague) and could make it to easily around Benelux or Western Germany (Nurburgring?).

Hi NRL

Check out the German Alpina Club at http://www.i-bs.de/Buchloer-Autos/en/start.html.

They have regular meets and are growing.

David,

Thanks for your reply/interest.

In terms of timing, well it depends upon when people are available. However, there doesn't seem to be much interest at present - but that doesn't mean the 3 or so who have posted here can't get together of course!

With winter setting in, spring would seem a good time, especially if we wanted a drive around a track too (eg Nurburgring).

Regards,

Neil

Hi All,

This years meeting of the Alpina-Gemeinschaft (www.alpina-gemeinschaft.de) will probably be held in Mönchengladbach. Check out our website frequently for more details. The exact date is not yet planned, but will be in the summer.

Hope to see you all there!

I forgot to mention that everyone is invited, member or not. We are currently trying to plan a track event (Nürburgring?) into the program. Usually we have around 70 Alpinas at our annual meeting. The member cars represents the entire range of Alpinas - from 2002, 3.0 CSL to B8 4.6, B10 Biturbo, B12 5.7 and B12 6.0.

I would also be interested in more informal meets with other enthusiasts, since this official meeting is only once a year. Any ideas welcome. Southern Europe wouldn't be bad... :-)

Michael,

I sent an email to Rene' earlier today. He emailed me back and said I should speak to you (this is about his B8).

Can you send me your email address to neillewis@freenet.co.uk and we can discuss off-forum.

Many thanks,

Neil
