Alpina B8 questions

Thinking about replacing my M5 with an Alpina B8, can anyone tell me what a realistic fuel consumption figure is? Has anyone out there looked at the 3 B8 Coupés advertised on the Autoscout24 website? Are they any good? I know of one Coupé for sale in the UK (BMW Car feature July 1999) but it is out of my price range! Ideally I would prefer a 4 door - anyone know where I could get one?

Hi Bob,

Regarding the fuel consumption, Alpina claims(in L/100km) 16,6 in city-driving. In 90 km/h they claim a figure of only 7,8 and in 120 km/h 9,6. The highway-consumption is low because of the gearing, 49,9 km/h at 1000 rpm in sixth. These figures are for the Limousine and Coupe.

In Complete car´s test of the B8, which btw seems to be identical to Auto Motor und Sport´s test, the worst consumption was 16,2 mpg and best 22,3 mpg.

Are you going to import one from Germany?

Best Regards,

Mr Janne

How are you getting on with your B8 search? I am also interested in one (for the wife you understand, as I already have a B10 Biturbo and a Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione).

Regards,

Neil

Hi Bob,

Did you buy a B8? Do you still need more information?

Michael
