Dinan Wheels

Went up to the dealer to pick up the wheels, was in and out without issue.

The wheels look nice, at least off of the car (more on that in a minute).

Unfortunately, my truck threw a rod on the way home, which kind of sent my day into a tail spin that I still have not recovered.

When I finally got home, I took a couple of pics and put them on the scale.

The fronts weigh a meager 19.6 lbs, the rear 20.4. Not bad for 19*9 and 19*10's, respectively. That's the good part...

The bad part is that when I went ot have the mounted, it turns out that using the stock tire size, per Dinan's recommendations, causes the ever so slightest rub on the front strut. F*&k me!

So I called Dinan tech support... he was on the phone but actually called me back, even though it was so late on a Friday. The first response, after the multiple "really, an E60 M5?" three times was "I didn't even know we made anything for it yet." After some shuffling and reading back and forth tire models and sizes, he said that it should work without issue. After assuring him it didn't he promised to get to work on it as soon as he could. What's interesting to note is that in the box came a spec sheet with tire size suggestions for both the 645 and the 545 which did not match what they have listed in their application guide... what a bunch of #$^@%&@'s.

That's all I feel like writing right now about it... it's time for a beer or 10.

If anyone has any suggestions on alternate tire sizes, that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Oh yeah, in the attached pic, the blue on the lip is the protective film. I'll post more detailed pics later.

Re: Dinan Wheels

What offsets are they building to? Stock is 12mm and 28mm respectively. My HRE's were built at 9mm and 25mm to split the difference between stock and max track advantage without any rub using stock tire sizes(255/40 and 285/35). Contact Dave at Wheel Enhancement 310-836-8908 if you need clarification and/or options. They are the best.
