18.2 MPG!

Got your attention?

I filled the tank up today and reset my MPH and trip meter. Drove a total of 130 miles, 100 miles of which were limited access interstate. Cruise control set at 76. Average for 100 miles was 18.2. Other 30 miles of trip were rural roads with a town or two, coupla stops, 25 mph etc. TOTAL for all 130 miles 17.2. Whew, that's more reasonable than what I had feared. That being said, I was pretty gentle with the throttle. Oh, and I have 700 miles on the car at this point. 6 days young!

Love this car!

Re: 18.2 MPG!

best I had so far is 15.7l per 100km on a 400km tank so I guess my result was very similar to yours, imperial gallons of course. The very tank after I did 100km less on it...

Re: 18.2 MPG!

WOW...best I've gotten was 11.2, car just hit 500 miles. I drive between P400 and P500, but mostly P500 and today finally found M-Drive so I've been driving in P500 Sport. For the most part I do drive it under 5500 RPM, but sometimes I can't resist and just nail it.

Beware the Dark Side young Jedi!!

I know how hard it is but seriuosly, you may end up regretting it in the long run.

I've also just recently realised I could use the 'M' button during break in but I set everything to stay within the restrictions. Just passed 930 miles this morning and am hoping for the service mid week next week!!!

Have staryed over the 5500 mark but only a few times and only because the car loves to rev!!!

It's definitely worth the wait. youonly have 700 more miles to go. Also as you get more used to the car and it loosens up some more, try soem bursts from 2500-3000 to the 5500 breakin limit and you'll get a nice taster for what's to come without doing anything that may - in the long term - ruin your experience with the car.

Mad car though, isn't it!

Re: 18.2 MPG!

Just for reference, when ferrying my new B5 back to England from Bavaria (running in of course), we got 25.5mpg (imperial) = 21.5mpg (US). On that car, they say that 28.8mpg (imperial) is possible on the highway.
