headlamp washers

This is the 3rd BMW I have had with headlamp washers that dont work, is this a common problem with this item? Checked the fuses all ok, but dont know if the motors etc work. Any ideas?

Re: headlamp washers

Are you aware that they only work when the headlights are on, and only on every 5th activation of the windscreen washers? (It's certainly every 5th activation in the UK - this may vary in other markets.)

That is my recollection for U.S. cars also. Not sure if the timing is different if you use the concentrated wash button.

Re: headlamp washers

I've been thinking about trying to turn mine off. I've never noticed any benefit to having them and they always seem to spray all over the hood of the car. Kind of a bummer if you've just washed it and only need the windshield washer for say a dead bug or something.
