no response from BMWUSA ?

I've sent 3 emails regarding the "defective instrument cluster" issue to BMWUSA (Leonora) with no repsonse? It's very disappointing to be BMW enthusiast, buy the top of the line car (near the top anyway), BMW shirts, banners in the garage and not even get an email back. I'm probably even responsible for at least 3 or 4 people in my office buying 5 series cars. It's been more than a week and I've heard nothing, NOTHING!!!

Does BMWNA monitor this board? It's not bad enough that my local dealer is absolutly horrible, but to be ignored by the actual corporation is a bit much.

Anyone have a good contact there that could help? I'd appreciate any help.

Re: no response from BMWUSA ?

I dont have any connections to BMW NA but I did have some instrument cluster issues. Pixels started going out on my cluster and the dealer replaced my cluster under warranty, no issue at all. Works great now. Hope you get a resolution to your problem.

Email????

Start sending certified letters or faxes to actual people.

Sure, they OUGHT to treat email like any formal communication, but they don't... most companies don't.

Re: no response from BMWUSA ?

have you tried the dealer? This is a common issue and many, many people have had the cluster replaced outside of warranty with no issues. If nothing else, do a search on the roadfly.com e39 board, i remember seeing a name and phone number of someone at bmw na to talk to.

Re: no response from BMWUSA ?

BMW NA initially replies with one of those canned responses so you know they rec'd it. If you did not get one of those then maybe something was wrong with the email you sent (address, etc.). I sent one a month or so ago on the matter of cluch. Can't say I got anywhere (yet) but they did reply. Good luck.

Re: no response from BMWUSA ?

I've tried email/phone/mail. NONE OF IT WORKS! I had a problem with a service visit (they actually mad the car worse) and the only response (via telephone) was that dealers are individually operated and that I was basically screwed.

I guess BMWNA thinks they sell enough cars that they don't need to focus on cuser service...

The originator of this thread had an instrument cluster pixel issue, which is well documented with this car and seems to be widely accepted by dealers and NA as a replacement no problem matter. I respectfully disagree that NA does not reply on a wholesale level. It can be tough though getting to the right person, as the names are no longer readily avail. What I found that works is to talk to the factory rep when they visit the dealer. It depends on the matter of course. If its a quality issue with the dealer, you can reflect that in the next BMW Quality of Service Call you should receive. I'd also take it up with the Service Mgr, then the GM. If you keep your cool, its amazing how they might bend. Good luck.
